Corner keep up hopes of high finish in Ballymena & Provincial League

Chimney Corner boosted their hopes of a high finish in the Ballymena & Provincial Intermediate League with an important weekend victory.

The Allen Park men beat Killymoon Rangers to stay fourth in the Michelin Athletic Club-sponsored championship.


CHimney Corner 2, Killymoon Rangers 0: Corner started off on attack going on to take the lead after Kevin Coogan scored on the 15th minute.

Chances came and went for both teams after this but at half-time no more goals had been scored.

The second half again saw chances but the only one taken was by David Hama scoring a second goal for Corner on the 65th minute sealing the win for the Antrim side.

Remo FC 3, Clough Rangers Athletic 2: Both teams had a chance to go in front before Martin McEneaney opened the scoring for Remo on the 29th minute.

Then as half-time approached William Dunlop hit home the equaliser for Clough on the 41st minute but Paul Magill restored the Remo advantage on the 42nd minute.

Clough got back on level terms for a second time after Ross Steele scored on the 53rd minute.

Both teams then went for the winner after this which went to Remo after Martin McEneaney scored his second goal on the 66th minute for what proved the winner.
