Ferguson to make changes for Ports

The Sky Blues will definitely be without teenage striker Matthew Shevlin, who travels to Iceland this week with Northern Ireland under-19s.

Left-back Michael Ruddy also begins a two-match suspension following his recent dismissal against Ballinamallard.

“We will have to dip into the squad again because Matthew away and Michael is banned,” said Ferguson.

“Matthew has looked tired in recent weeks and he didn’t really look himself again on Saturday.

“I’ve told him to stay away and have a rest until he goes away on international duty.

“There are still clubs interested and I think it’s a matter of when it’s going to happen rather than if it going to happen which is good.

“Whether clubs would be happy for him to stay with us until the end of the season to play what we would call men’s football rather than going into an under-18 league, it might benefit him more.

“It was disappointing that our unbeaten run came to an end against Crusaders but now we have to try to start again and there were certainly plenty of positives we can take out of last weekend because I thought for large periods of the game we matched them.,” added Ferguson.

Seven Towers SC transport to Saturday’s game leaves Henry Street car park at 1.30pm.
