A number of Ballymena United Youth Academy sides and senior youth sides are back in action this week.
The under 16s are involved in a pre-curser to the glamour senior friendly on Tuesday night when they face Shankill Youth on the 3G at 6pm.
Both squads will then head up to the main arena to watch the much anticipated Rangers friendly fixture, for first team goalkeeper Dwayne Nelson’s testimonial match.
The 16’s have another high profile game on Friday evening when they face USA outfit O.C Blues at Crumlin.
The American boys are finalising their Milk cup preparations and it will be a testing outing for the young Sky blues who will be parading a number of new faces themselves.
The 2004 United boys are already in action at the Foyle Cup action this week, the first United side to wear the club’s new Uhisport kit.
Parents and boys met at the Tullyglass House Hotel on Monday for a send off luncheon.
Senior manager Glen Ferguson and Chairman John Taggart were also present as the Ballymena hotel announced their exciting new partnership with the Academy for the new season.
The hotel will be firstly involved with the 2004 lads,sponsoring the side this week in their endeavours in the North West.

Last but not least the Academy 2005 group are back in training, the group will be preparing for the new season every Monday and Wednesday evening at the Showgrounds.
For children in the under 11 age bracket, the club would welcome any new players who believe they can contribute to the squad.
They meet at the 6.45 pm both nights, the first session being this Wednesday 22nd July, Jonny Hume is the sky blues u11 manager.
