Harryville Homers have reached the final of the IFA Irish Junior Cup for a third successive season after a dramatic penalty shootout win in tonight’s semi-final.
Robert Duddy’s side overcame Lower Shankill 3-0 on spot kicks after their last four tie had remained deadlocked at 1-1 after extra-time, at Inver Park
Homers went in front after 15 minutes when Gary Baird converted from the penalty spot but the Amateur League side levelled before the interval.
With no further scoring in normal or extra time, it was the defending champions who held their nerve in the shootout to set up a May Day final meeting with Rosemount Rec.
Don’t miss next week’s Ballymena Times for a full countdown to the cup final.
