Local Man U and Liverpool fans square up in charity game

Any football match between Manchester United and Liverpool is always an eagerly-anticipated affair.

So when supporters of the two English giants from within an area of Ballymena collide for a special charity match this weekend, expect fireworks!

Fans of the two clubs from within the Ballee area will show their skills in the fixture, at Ballymena Showgrounds 3G pitch on Friday, August 9 (8pm).

The event has been organised by brothers Lewis Boyd and Josh Macrory.

“We decided we wanted to do this for a cancer charity and some of the boys who will be playing have had personal experience of Macmillan through relatives,” explains Josh.

There is no admission charge, but a collection of voluntary donations will be taken up. Everyone is also welcome to attend a post-match function in the Coach Bar (10.30pm).

Josh has thanked all those have already provided sponsorship or raffle prizes, including Style N Sport, IMMA gym, Chilli Pepper Tattoo and Pets at Home.
