Northend United Youth FC round-up: Semi-final heartache for U-16s

The U16s will certainly use this match as a good learning exercise in what has become a great introduction season to the National League.

In the Belfast and East Antrim League, a number of the teams had end of season fixtures this week with the U12s in action twice. In midweek they lost to Newington while recovering to defeat Carrick Rangers in their penultimate fixture of the season. This week will see them playing Carnmoney FDC in their final match of the season.

The U13s still have a few games to play and entertained Apex Sky Blues to Smithfield on Saturday in a match played in terrible conditions, before eventually losing by the odd goal in three.

On Friday night the Football Development Centre continued at its Ballymena North venue while a team of U8s also travelled to play in the Ballymoney United Mini Soccer Friendship League.

To end the week off, the young Blues had a team of U8s playing in the IFA Sponsored Football Festival at the Ballymena Showgrounds in the morning time, but due to the atrocious weather conditions in the afternoon, Northend didn’t field their P3 team in the McDonald’s Mini Soccer Competition, also at the Ballymena Showgrounds.

COACHES MEETING

A Coaches Meeting has been arranged for Tuesday 21st May at the Michelin Club at 7pm. All teams must be represented.
