It was the turn of the P4 age group to enjoy ther chance to shine in the Ballymena Invitational Mini Soccer League at the weekend.
While parents and supporters dodged heavy rain showers, the inclement conditions didn’t deter the youngsters involved, who enjoyed every minute of the three-hour session.
This coming weekend it’s the turn of the P5 age group, when new ground will be broken in the competition’s 15-year history.
Teams from the local area will be joined by Merseyside-based Arncliffe Juniors.
The club, from the Halewood area of Liverpool, are coached by Ballymena man Simon Boyd who is currently a student on Merseyside.
Simon is a qualified coach and spends his spare time coaching young people in Liverpool.
Simon stated: “The club would like to thank the Ballymena Invitational Mini Soccer League for their kind invitation.
“The players, the parents and myself are excited at the prospect of giving the children the opportunity to participate in small sided games against players from Ireland.”
