VIDEO: Ferguson thrilled by League Cup win
Ballymena United manager Glenn Ferguson believes his side’s 4-0 League Cup quarter-final win over Portadown is “right up there” with the best performances in his time in charge at the Showgrounds.
Goals from David Cushley, Mark Surgenor, Gary Thompson and an Ally Teggart penalty took the Sky Blues into the quarter-final of the competition for the second time in three years.
Ferguson also believes that the victory will provide a confidence boost for the players ahead of a string of relegation battles in the Danske Bank Premiership, starting with this Saturday’s home game against Ards.
