Wakehurst will miss suspended duo for Corner 'derby' clash

WAKEHURST will be under-strength for one of the most important games of their season tonight (Tuesday).

Ian Gregg's side will be without suspended duo Mark Crawford and Peter Stevenson for the 'derby' clash with Chimney Corner at Castledawson – a match which could have a major bearing on which team finishes bottom of the ladbrokes.com Championship Two table.

The defensive duo were both sent-off in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Queen's University – Crawford for violent conduct and Stevenson for handling a goalbound shot – and are automatically banned for tonight's game.

For a squad that isn't heavy on numbers to begin with, the loss of two key players is ablow for Wakehurst, in a game where they will want at the very least to maintain the four point advantage they currently hold over their Antrim-based neighbours at the foot of the table.

Wakehurst made a disastrous start to Saturday's game when a Queen's cross looped into the net inside two minutes.

Crawford was sent off before the students doubled their lead through former Wakehurst player Conor Mulholland and to add insult to injury, Stevenson was also red-carded for handball, with Queen's scoring their third from the resultant penalty.
