Four trophies are decided on bumper night of darts action

THERE was a bumper night of Ballymena, Harryville and District Darts League action on Friday night, with no fewer than four pieces of silverware up for grabs.

Three finals – Pictorium Cup, Loyalist Cup and Duffers Cup – were played at the home of the league sponsors Ballymena United Sports and Social Club, while the Fountain Bar hosted the finals of the Fountain Cup.

Drifters, by some distance the dominant force on the local oche scene, notched yet another piece of silverware by beating Greenhills in the Pictorium Cup final.

Host club Social Club won the Loyalist Cup, beating Michelin Club in the final, while also in the Slemish Drive clubrooms, Fountain Arows defeated Diamond Bar to win the Duffers Cup.

The Fountain Cup final saw Fairhill Bar hold off the challenge of Central Arms to lift the trophy.

Star player this week was John Elder (Drifters) with two 14-dart legs.
