Hockey Club set for busy season

PRE-SEASON is now underway as Ballymena Hockey Club prepares for an exciting new year ahead.

On a Tuesday and Thursday evening, any ladies interested in playing this season are currently meeting from 7-8pm at the Ecos centre while the men train at the later time of 8-9pm.

Last season saw a great influx of new senior players picking up a hockey stick to join the social hockey group, which has even continued all through the summer on a Thursday evening 7-8pm. This proves that there are people out there who wish to try the sport no matter how long ago they once played!

So if you are considering it, then pick up the challenge and join in. The club will be pleased to see all past, present and new faces.

The hockey club is now on Facebook – check it out for all the latest news and reviews now and throughout the season ahead. Likewise the club website will be continually updated with information, photos, match reports and contact details at www.ballymena hockey.com/hockey/

The mini and junior sections are holding registration evenings prior to the start of their sessions and the next one is on Wednesday 17th August from 7-8pm in the Showgrounds reception. This is a chance for you to enrol your child early and beat the last minute rush.

The weather last year played havoc with all hockey, so the mini and junior season has been cut from 25 weeks to 20 weeks commencing on Friday 16th September.
