In-form McKinstry continues to make his ‘Mark’

Fit N Running athlete Mark McKinstry kept the clubs impressive medal haul intact when he claimed another podium place at National level.

Running in the colours of parent club North Belfast Harriers Mark made up the four man Harriers team that claimed 3rd place at the recent Northern Ireland senior cross country championships.

This adds to Mark’s bronze medal from the National road relay championships staged in September.

Saturdays event at Greenmount in Antrim incorporated the IAAF International cross country which saw a host of the worlds top athletes in action.

UNDER 13 GIRLS RACE

Junior athlete Rebecca Wallace, on her 12th birthday, produced a fine performance as she continues to make good progress since joining Fit N Running in October.

Going In a high class field of top athletes from the home nations Rebecca claimed an impressive 17th place in the Girls under 13 event over 1800 meters.

MASTERS RACES

British & Irish masters bronze medallist James Wallace was in action in the masters event and continued to take massive strides forward as he claimed 12th place after a tough 3 lap race.

Paula Wallace ran in the Senior women’s event which incorporated the international race. She found good form against quality on the day claimed finish 4th in her age category.

JUNIOR MEN

Fifteen year old Connor McQuillan gave the opposition a two year advantage in the under 17 boys race. Against top notch performers from all of the home nations he finished in a creditable 23rd place.

BEGINNERS CLASS

Fit N Running started their beginners class last night (Monday). There is still time for potential newcomers to join (contact details below)

Fit N Running who are based at the Michelin Athletic club train four times each week with an attention to detail approach which delivers great results for all of its members.

Monday at 615pm is an easy paced run which is suitable for all levels and now includes beginners.

Tuesday at 615pm is Advanced level to improve speed and performance.

Wednesday at 6pm is strength conditioning training in a circuit format. There are a few places left in this class.

There is also a weight-loss group on Wednesday evening

Saturday morning session are dedicated to long runs and start at 915am.

There is now a juvenile group on Tuesday evenings. New members are always welcome.
