Irish swimming success for Oonagh

BALLYMENA has a new All-Ireland swimming champion.

Oonagh O’Neill landed four medals at the recent Irish Age Group Championships, held in Dublin’s National Aquatic Centre.

The St Louis Grammar School pupil, from Deramore Park, won gold in the 12-year-old backstroke, bronze in the freestyle and also helped her Larne Swimming Club relay team to two more golds.

At the same championships, another Ballymena swimmer, Suzannah Brown was part of the Larne team which won gold in the 12-year-old 4x50m freestyle relay.
