Killymurris Glarryford claim Nelson Cup final glory

Killymurris Glarryford celebrate their Nelson Cup success after beating Buckna in last week's final.

Glarryford surged into an early lead with all four of their rinks winning their opening ends, bagging a total of 14 shots in the process, but Buckna chipped away steadily at the deficit and by the interval, they were only three shots in arrears.

Buckna continued their challenge in the second half, and at one stage, Glarryford were trailing by three shots when the rink skipped by A Hamill dropped six shots in the sixth end against D Dunlop, whose rink went on to win 11-7 overall.

Meanwhile, in the league, First Broughshane have clinched the runners-up position, despite suffering a defeat by the champions First Ahoghill in what might have been a potential title decider, until Ahoghill pulled clear in the closing weeks of the season.
