Matt leads NI athletes to bronze medal

BALLYMENA athlete Matt Wray recently represented Northern Ireland in the British and Irish Masters Athletics International Cross Country Championship in Bellhouston Park, Glasgow.

He led his team of M45s to a bronze medal on a waterlogged course.

Matt, who is a member of Ballymena and Antrim Athletic Club said: “I am delighted with the all round team effort and hope the team will continue to build on this success.”

Also celebrating a great achievement was fellow club member Jarlath Falls who entered the National Inter-Counties Cross Country Championship in Sligo.

Jarlath, whose County Antrim team, finished in a very impressive second place commented: “It was a tough course, but we were very pleased with the result, given the conditions on the day.”
