Entries close at 5pm next Monday, November 11, for the 16th annual Ballymena Sports Awards, which will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014, in the Braid Town Hall complex.

With the help of the public, Ballymena Borough Council will compile a list of nominees in categories ranging from Team of the Year to Adult Sportsperson of the Year.

A selection committee will then consider all nominations and draw up a shortlist from which the eventual winners will be chosen to receive their award on the evening.

One new category this year is the Participation Award which will recognise the work of a community club, school, group or organisation who can demonstrate that they have increased active participation in sport or physical activity during the last year. This may be through a project or initiative or through on-going work.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from www.ballymena.gov.uk/sportsawards.asp or alternatively they are available from Seven Towers Leisure Centre or Ballymena Showgrounds.

Completed forms must be returned to Sports Development Officer Katrina McCaughan at the Showgrounds.
