Academy sides eye clean sweep in table tennis leagues

ACADEMY Strongtower sides remain on course to challenge for a remarkable clean sweep of league honours in the County Antrim Table Tennis League.

Sides from the Ballymena-based club currently occupy top spot in each of the four divisions, but there is still a lot of table tennis to be played in the closing weeks of the season.

Latest standings are:

Division One: AS Lions, played 7, points 16; Ballyclare Methodist ‘A’ 5-14; Knockagh ‘A’ 5-10; Osmond ‘A’ 4-10; Ballyclare Methodist ‘C’ 7-7; Ballyclare Methodist ‘B’ 4-7.

Division Two: AS Murrays 11-24; AS Jaguars 11-23; Carnmoney 92 10-21; Coleraine Foxes 7-21; Osmond B 9-21; Knockagh B 10-20; Coleraine Badgers 11-19; Larne A 9-15; 120th Old Boys 8-8.

Division Three: AS Rockets 7-21; Coleraine Ferrets 6-15; Knockagh C 6-14; AS Dynamo 7-9; Ballyclare Methodist ‘D’ 6-9; Osmond C 6-8.

Division Four: AS Brocklamonts 6-16; Larne B 5-15; Osmond D 6-12; Coleraine Wanderers 7-11; AS Hazzards 6-8; AS Queso 6-6.
