Ballymena Swimming Club members made a big splash at the recent Forest Feast AquaSprint Junior Swimming League Finals.
Competing in eight locations, the top three teams in each of the four divisions (A,B,C and D) battled it out to see who would take the title and lift the coveted AquaSprint trophy, with the remaining teams competing to avoid relegation.
At Cookstown Leisure Centre, Ballymena picked up an early lead against Armagh and Enniskillen in the race for the Division D title. Ballymena’s advantage eventually proved too much and they emerged as comfortable winners. The final scores were Ballymena 342, Armagh 259 and Enniskillen 239.
Christine Whelan, Forest Feast Field Sales Manager said: “Once again the Forest Feast AquaSprint Junior Swimming League competitors displayed outstanding dedication and commitment to training and competing during the 2015 season.
“We would like to congratulate Ulster’s youngest swimmers for their achievements and the excellent sportsmanship and team spirit they displayed at Friday evening’s Finals.
“At Forest Feast we believe it is essential to involve children in sport from a young age, to help develop and strengthen their attitudes towards exercise and balanced lifestyles. The Forest Feast AquaSprint Junior Swimming League is a fantastic example of how enthusiastic children are to participate in competitive and fun sports!”
Christine added: “We extend a huge thank you to Swim Ulster for its help in co-ordinating each of the galas and making sure the Forest Feast AquaSprint Junior Swimming League runs smoothly from week to week. Well done to all AquaSprint winners and competitors, we look forward to seeing you in October for the 2015-16 season!”
