Fit N Running athlete Colin Apperley continued his fine form at last weekends Newmills 10k hosted by Letterkenny Athletic Club.

Colin is unable to race on Saturdays due to work commitments so is using Sumday events as part of his winter training plan.

It has been working well for him to date and last Sunday saw the relative newcomer to the sport finish well up the field in 13th position. On a tough hilly course Colin clocked a time of 38mins 33secs.

It is the latest impressive performance for Apperley, under the tutelage of Fit N Running’s head coach Gregory Walsh.

The beginners course has now completed week 7 and is well ahead of schedule.

The aim for the 8 week course was to complete 35mins contiuous running which is usually a distance of 5k (3.14mile).

The dedicated group are now running over 4 mile and enjoying the experience.

Fit N Running weekly sessions and times are as follows:

Monday 615pm Recreational Run.

Monday 730pm Beginners Run

Tuesday 615pm Advanced Run.

Wednesday 615pm Conditioning Circuit.

All these sessions are from the Michelin Athletic Club on the Woodside Road in Ballymena.
