Darts teams return to action on Friday night


The Ballymena, Harryville & District Darts League season resumes this Friday night with the opening round of the Pictorium Cup.

Can The Coach retain the trophy or can Drifters reclaim the crown they have held for many years?

The draw for the 1st round will take place at Monday night’s meeting.

Both Divisions are now at the halfway point, with normal service resumed in Division 1 where Drifters sit proudly at the top. Division 2 is becoming a bit more interesting with Ballee I now back at the summit with Pattons, Michelin and Village Inn all chasing.

There were two rearranged matches over the holiday period with the following results:

Buffs Club 5, Bowling Club 3: Buffs claimed another victory to consolidate their mid table position. Bowling Club winners this week were Kate Lynn (2-0), Jordan Barr (2-0) and Richard Campbell (2-0). Buffs Club claimed the win thanks to Arthur Kenny (2-0), Martin Coulter (2-0), Rodney McCartney (2-0), Paul McDonald (2-0) and Graham McCartney (2-0). Star player - Rodney McCartney.

Ballee I 7, Cosy Corner 1: Ballee I regained top spot in Division 2 with this strong win over Cosy Corner. Well done Martin Deane (2-0) halping Cosy avoid the whitewash defeat. Ballee I had wins this week from Colin McCaughern (2-0), Paul Henson (2-1), Billy Gay (2-0), Russell Stewart (2-0), Warren Craig (2-0), Darren Hillis (2-0) and Leon McDowell (2-0). Star player – Warren Craig.


Division One: Drifters 46 points; Greenhills 42; The COach 34; Floaters 25; Spinning Mill 21; Thatch Inn 18; Fountain Arrows 6.

Division Two Ballee I 51 points; Pattons Bar 50; Michelin 45; Village Inn 41; Wanderers 39; Buffs Club 37; Fountain Bar 34; Ballee II 24; Cosy Corner 16; Bowling Club 15.
