Ballymena’s Fit N Running have just completed their season which ran from September 2013 to September 2014.

During that period the up and coming club have amassed an impressive medal haul at local, national and international level.

Under the guidance of coach Gregory Walsh the clubs members have made relentless progress on the road, country and at trial events.

Their medal haul reads as follows: Podium finishes- 49; 1st places finishes- 33; 2nd place finishes- 9; 3rd place finishes - 7

International level: 1 bronze medal

National level: 1 gold medal; 2 silver medals; 5 bronze medals.

Series victories: Male winner of East Antrim Summer Trail Series; Male winner of Sperrin Harriers Winter Trail Series.

Team prizes: 2 gold medals; 1 Bronze medal

In addition, the club has staged 3 very successful beginners courses and currently are running their 4th such course which is now in week 3.

The club currently have 60 members who are all training regularly at the clubs weekly sessions.

The past 12 months have also saw the introduction of Monday evenings recreational running group. This has seen a fantastic team spirit develop between its members who regularly organise day trips, events and nights out.

In a sport notorious for injuries Fit N Running most impressive stat is that none of their members are injured. During the last 12 months their Tuesday night advanced group who raced and trained hard all year did so completely injury free with an endless string of personal bests in the process.

The clubs members have bought into the detailed training methods and as a result have achieved their annual goals and avoided injuries along the way.

The clubs beginners class is now in week 3 and meet at 7.30pm on Monday evening.

Fit N Running also have an intermediate runners class on Monday evenings, an advanced class on Tuesday evenings and a strength conditioning circuit class on Wednesdays (all 6.15pm). For further info contact Gregory Walsh on 07952168016 or email
