There was more success for local National Hot Rod racer Jaimie McCurdy last weekend when the sixteen year old from Broughshane was voted best Newcomer for 2014.
McCurdy topped the recent poll of National Hot Rod fans and was presented with his award during the prestigious Autosport International Racing Car Show at the NEC in Birmingham last weekend.
McCurdy has only a handful of appearances in the elite National Hot Rod division under his belt, but has caught the eye with this an impressive string of results that includes winning the Pat Canavan Memorial Trophy at Tipperary Raceway and victory in the Winter National Championship on his last outing at Ballymena Raceway.
