Nutts Corner Raceway bursts back into life this Sunday, March 27, with no less than six formulae in action to kick the new season off in style.
The Brisca F2 will headline proceedings as they contest their Gold Helmet championship. The F2’s enjoyed something of a revival in the province last year and the future looks even more promising with many new drivers set to join the ranks this season with the formula’s oldest title (the British Championship) set to be decided at the local venue in June.
Expect the newcomers to face stiff opposition from the established stars such as Chris Kincaid, Conor Hughes, Craig McConnell and Ryan McCrory.
The 1300 Stock Cars, 2L Saloons, Junior Rods, Micro F2’s and Stock Rods are also on the packed race schedule.
The 1300’s are another class which is expected to benefit from higher car counts with several drivers focusing their attentions to the coveted National Championship prize which will be settled at Nutts Corner in the autumn.
The heavy hitting 2L Saloons are sure to provide action aplenty while the non contact ORCi Stock Rods keep going from strength to strength and are scheduled to battle it out for their Ulster Challenge Cup.
The Junior Rods and Micro F2’s complete the busy race card and both classes always provide the spectators with lots of thrills and spills as the stars of tomorrow find their feet in oval racing.
All the ingredients are in place for what is sure to be a season opener to remember, the first race leaves the start line at 2pm sharp.
