All systems go this weekend for King’s Hall motorcycle show

The final press conference for the eagerly-awaited Adelaide/Blackhorse Kings Hall Motorcycle Festival took place last Wednesday.

Billy Nutt and his team were able to give us final details on what promises to be another first class event.

Special guests, as I have them at the minute are Jack Kennedy and Stuart Easton who will both grace the BSB paddock, Martin Barr, Dean Harrison and Conor Cummins. It’s possible there will be others added to the list before the show gets under way.

According to the organisers, floor space is completely sold out and the Alexandra Hall is well on the way to being the same, with Classic and Vintage bikes and the ever popular autojumble taking pride of place there. This is the 20th year the Nutt Promotions have run the show, which started life in the Antrim Forum.

All the major manufacturers will be represented, including the Big 4 Japanese ones, KTM, BMW, Ducati, Harley Davidson, Triumph, AJS and WK. The eagerly anticipated R1 and R1-M will take centre stage, as will Suzukis new GSX-R1000MotoGP special and the DL650X. On the BMW stand the updated version of the S1000RR as well as the R1200R and the F800R can be seen. Kawasaki will have the amazing new H2, which seems to have taken the motorcycle world by storm.

The off road village has now been filled with all the latest bikes, and potential competitors will be able to obtain all the information they need on how to get into the sport of MX or trials.

As per normal, the PSNI will be on hand to promote their Bike Safe initiative, in partnership with the AIM, the Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists.

Moving away from bikes and the Northern Ireland Karting Club will display the latest karts and will also be on hand to explain to drivers how they can get involved.

Special emphasis is being given to students who might be interested in a career in the motorcycle industry. With that in mind, students can gain free admission from 12noon on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday they will have to be accompanied by an adult, who will only pay half price. Other admission charges are £12 for an adult, or £6 for an OAP. Children under 16 go free when they are with an adult.
