The event, which made a successful return in 2009 after a year's absence, will be held in Clough on Friday, July 30 and Saturday, July 31.

Everyone in invited to come along and see see details of the race and the other activities associated with race week. The official race launch will take place at 2pm.

Meanwhile, in response to a number of requests from supporters of the Mid Antrim 150, the club are inviting fans to help support the event by becoming joint sponsors of a race, entitled The People’s Race.

Organisers are attempting to find 30 people who as supporters of the race would be willing to donate 50 towards sponsoring a race. In return all involved will be acknowledged in a full page advert in the programme, press releases and website. If you require more details or wish to be involved contact Derek McWhirter at 07812204382.

For many years, the club has offered fans the chance to sponsor a bale, mainly straw ones in years gone by.

However with modern technology, rider safety has been considerably improved by the introduction of foam filled bales called Rectocel Bales. The Mid Antrim Club have been to the forefront of rider safety and along with the MCUI who governing the sport every effort to improve safety at road races including the use of Rectocel Bales is used.

To help the club finance rider safety supporters can contribute to our Sponsor a Bale at 10 a bale. Contact Norman Morrow for more details at 07811525623

Further details will be given on the Miss Mid Antrim Night and other fund raising events in the weeks ahead.

The Mid Antrim Club are grateful for the support of our sponsors and Ballymena Borough Council but if anyone would like details of the race or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Derek McWhirter at 07812204382.
