Raceway season finale on Friday

The Ballymena Raceway season draws to a conclusion on Friday evening (October 3) and a bumper schedule of events are programmed to end the 2014 campaign in some style.

The packed line-up features the 2014 Irish Championship for the Group Two Lightning Rods, the 2014 Stadium Championship for the F2 Stock Cars, Round 6 of the PC Paints and Components World Series NI for the National Hot Rods and the Champion of Champions for the Euro Stocks. The Group Two Lightning Rods will also race for the superb Golden Helmet Trophy.

A fierce battle is in prospect for the coveted Irish GP2 crown, where local favourites Freddie Fleck, Jason Clyde, Johnny Gillespie, Rodney Fleck and David Gillespie all harbour ambitions of taking the title.

The F2 Stock Car division race for their Stadium Championship where Irish Champion Christopher Kincaid starts as the hot favourite, while the National Hot Rod drivers battle it out for those all important World Qualifying Points.

It promises to be a thrilling finale to the season with the first race at the Curtis Toyota sponsored meeting commencing at 7:15pm.
