Seconds suffer another heavy loss

BALLYMENA Seconds were hoping for better things against Ballynahinch than they endured against Armagh in their last match but were in for a shock.

The visitors were more determined than the Ballymena side and ran out easy winners by 55 points to 6.

Right from the start Ballynahinch made their intentions clear with a determined onslaught on the Ballymena line and with less than 10 minutes played they were ahead by 14 points to nil with 2 converted tries.

Ballymena did manage a penalty but were soon further behind as the visitors got another 2 converted tries.

Another penalty for Ballymena was scant consolation as the visitors scored another try before half time to make the score 33 points to 6.

To add to Ballymena’s woes Rory Drysdale had to leave the field with a back injury and soon afterwards they lost Adrian Hamilton with an injured ankle.

Into the second half with 13 players and a 27 points deficit it was uphill all the way for the Braid men.

Needless to say it was a lost cause and the visitors scored another 22 points without reply.
