Zandra Douglas had a day to remember as she won the prestigious Lady Captain's Day prize at Ballymena Golf Club last week.

Lady Captain Mrs Elaine Mark hosted a number of members and visitors to the Raceview Road course on her big day and Zandra took the spoils with a total 38 points, two clear of her nearest challenger.

The gross prize went to Jill Black, who defeated Jacqui Brown, courtesy of a better back nine.

Section A: Eileen Hudson 33; B: Sandra Lennox 36; C: Deirdre McGillian 31 (better back nine from Hilary Hendron); Front Nine: Margaret Logan 18; Back Nine: Kerri Rose McElroy 18.

After the day’s play, the ladies enjoyed the social activities of the prizegiving function in the club.

Also last week, Janet Gaston was victorious in the Broughshane Rosebowl with 35 points.

Jill Black won the gross prize with 21 points and the sectional winners were: A - Barbara Totten 31; B - Zandra Douglas 35; C - Hilary Hendron 34.
