Social highlight!

BALLYMENA United Social Club will claim all the headlines in this week's Inbev Town and Country League round-up as they brought the curtain down on McAuley's unbeaten run in the league.

BUSC's 3-2 win in Carnlough blows the race for the league title wide open, with no fewer than four teams now in contention.

In this rearranged match, BUSC got off to a flyer with Seamus Clarke defeating David Magill over the three game distance.

BUSC's Tony O'Neill then made it 2-0 with another fine win over Sean Davidson in a similar score line.

Seamus Scullion then finished the game off with a win over Ryan Mitchell to see the Social Club take a 3-0 score into the final two games.

In the final two games, McAuley's clawed some points back with wins for John McAllister and Mark McConnell.

With games in hand over current league leaders Lurig, McAuley's now find themselves seven points adrift of top spot, with two games in hand, making it an interesting few weeks ahead for the leading teams, with it really anyone's guess who will come away with the title.

Lurig A, however, seem to be taking the lead role at the minute with the Cushendall team hitting form at the moment with their second whitewash in as many weeks, this week's opponents were their stable mates Lurig B who were helpless to stop Lurig A running out 5-0 winners and return to the top of the league.

With a number of matches postponed this week the only other matches of the night were the Halfway's visit to Carnlough where the visitors ran out 3-2 winners to see them win their first match in months.

Wins on the night for the Hafway came from Donal O'Boyle, Ashley Graham and Barry Hamill, Glencloy Elite's points coming from Jamie and Anthony Abram in a closely fought match.

The last match of the night was played in Randalstown where visitors Greenhills maintained their winning form with a comfortable 4-1 in over Heffrons with Damien Crossan the only man to get a point for the Randalstown team. Wins for Greenhills came from Ciaran Reid, Joe Larkin, Eamon Darragh and captain Paul Scullion.
