Sparkling display takes Dazzlers clear at top of table

Diamond Dazzlers produced a virtually flawless performance to open up a two point lead at the top of the Ballymena Towers Pool League.

Dazzlers disposed of Moat Mad Dogs by a 6-0 scoreline - not dropping as much as a single frame along the way.

Results from week four’s round of fixtures last week were:

Mighty Moat 4, The Coach 2: Coach took the lead when Warren Gray beat Daniel Magill by a 2-1 scoreline. Martin Hill levelled the score when he defeated Frazer Young by a 2-1 scoreline after he had lost the first frame.

In game three Cliff Allison came from one behind to defeat Dean Robinson and put the Coach back into a 2-1 lead in the match.

Alan Rainey levelled the match score for the second time when he beat David Carlisle by a 2-1 scoreline.

David Nicholl gave the home team the lead in the match for the first time when he defeated David Gillespie also by a 2-1 scoreline but this time they didn’t relinquish their lead as Colin Taylor defeated Darnell McCrory in straight frames. POM - Colin Taylor.

Michelin Masters 5, Fairhill Dreamers 1: David Armstrong got the Masters off to a winning start when he defeated Ricky Allen in straight frames. Chris Penney doubled the tally when he beat Gary Allen also in straight frames.

In game three the Fairhill pulled one game back when Sean Brannigan had to come from one down to beat Jimmy Knowles by a 2-1 scoreline.

Alan Armstrong restored the two game difference when he beat Linzi McClelland by a 2-1 scoreline. In game five Rick McMaster increased the lead for Masters when he defeated Ian Dewar by a 2-1 scoreline.

In the final game Brian Hanna beat Nigel McMaster by a 2-1 scoreline but had to come from behind after he had lost the first frame. POM - Sean Brannigan.

Fairhill Hustlers 5, Social Club 1: George McCullough gave the home team the lead when he beat Marc McMullan in straight frames and Glenn Mairs doubled the score when he beat John Fleck by the same margin.

Ross Hill pulled one game back for the Social Club when he beat Richard Campbell by a 2-1 scoreline.

In game four Robert Graham restored the two game lead when he beat Albert McBride in straight frames to make the match score 3-1 to the Hustlers.

Paul Hayes made the score 4-1 to the Hustlers when he defeated Brian Boyd also in straight frames and Ritchie Irwin added a fifth point for Hustlers when he beat May Barr also in straight frames. POM - Glenn Mairs.

Towers Tavern 3, The Inbetweeners 3: Inbetweeners took the first game when Steven Heron had a come from behind win over Dean Greer. Philip Houston doubled the lead when he defeated Drew Sloan in straight frames.

Towers Tavern pulled one back through Shane Moody who defeated Ryan Logan in straight frames but Gareth Rowe restored the two game lead at 3-1 for the Inbetweeners when he beat David O’Neill also by a 2-0 scoreline.

Tavern pulled another one back through James Millar who defeated Paul Francey also by a 2-0 scoreline and in the final game KD Crabbe made the match score all square when he defeated Gary Ormandy by a 2-1 scoreline. POM - KD Crabbe.

The Meatballs 3, Connolly’s A 3: Pat McAnally defeated Gary Clarke by a 2-1 scoreline in the first game. Ryan Foster doubled Meatballs’ advantage when he defeated Mark Campbell in straight frames.

Connolly’s A got a game back through Keiran Butler who defeated Barry McLarnon in straight frames. In game four Connolly’s A levelled the match when John McAllister beat Brett McLaughlin in straight frames for a 2-2 match score.

Dee Erwin came from being one down to win 2–1 against Joey McNally to put the Meatballs ahead once more but Pat McAnally (snr) defeated Marcus Westhall in straight frames to leave the final score a deserved draw. POM - Pat McAnally Snr.

Diamond Dazzlers 6, Moat Mad Dogs 0: This was a very one sided match with all games being won by 2-0 scorelines.

Diamond winners in the first half were Chris Gordon, Malcolm Graffin and Robert Artt who defeated Alfie Rutherford, William Wilson and Allen Agnew.

There was no let-up from DIamond who went on to claim full points through Brendan O’Mullan, Adrian Rourke and Ian Boal who beat Sheree Agnew-Tuffs, Richard Bamber and Andrew Tuffs. POM - Malcolm Graffin.
