Tavern beat new pool champions as they chase runners-up spot

Towers Tavern took an important step towards clinching runners-up position in the Ballymena Towers Pool League by beating newly-crowned champions Inbetweeners 4-2.

Moat Mad Dogs 1, Fairhill Dreamers 5: Gary Allen put Fairhill ahead, only for Ricky Moore to level for Moat.

Allen Agnew and Ashley Harmswrth each came from a frame down to win their matches to put Dreamers 3-1 ahead and Fairhill continued that momentum with further wins from Ian Dewar and Linzi McClelland. POM - Allen Agnew.

Fairhill Hustlers 2, Mighty Moat 4: Steven Magill and Michael Thompson fired Moat into a 2-0 lead before Richard Campbell pulled a game back for Fairhill.

David Nicholl restored Moat’s two-game lead and although Robert Graham pulled it back to 3-2, Alan Rainey clinched a fourth point for the Harryville side in the last game. POM - Michael Thompson.

Coach 1, Fairhill Hustlers 5: A routine victory for Hustlers thanks to wins from Glenn Mairs, Ritchie Irwin, Justin Kilpatrick, Robert Graham and Richard Campbell, before David Gillespite helped Coach avoid a whitewash in the final game. POM - Glenn Mairs.

Inbetweeners 2, Towers Tavern 4: With the score deadlocked at 2-2 - Gary Ormandy and Paul Francey for the champions and Shane Moody and David O’Neill for Towers - the Ballee side went on to claim victory thanks to wins from Dean Greer and James Millar. POM - James Millar.
