Braid date for Phil Coulter

IT’S hard to believe that it’s 45 years since a bare-footed Sandie Shaw won the Eurovision Song Contest and charmed an audience of millions with Phil Coulter’s Puppet on a String.

That marked just the start of a wide-ranging and glittering career for the man from Derry.

He is without doubt one of the most enduring figures in the music industry, still managing to rack up chart entries after all those years.

Millions of records sold, a list of classic songs written, award-winning productions with iconic artistes, not to mention sold out international tours and a Grammy nomination - not a bad track tecord.

In his upcoming tour of Northern Ireland, Phil takes an affectionate look back over all of those years, the songs he’s written, the records he’s produced and the characters he’s encountered.

It’s a fascinating story of highs and lows, populated by some of the biggest stars in the world of entertainment with whom Phil has collaborated.

It’s an irresistable evening of music, songs and stories, with the added bonus of some amazing film clips and video footage which Phil has compiled from the archives.
