Glengormley Townswomen keep busy over the summer

ON THURSDAY, June 28, two delegates from Glengormley Townswomens Guild - Secretary, Ann Adams and Treasurer, Carole Pearson, joined four other delegates from the Northern Ireland Federation of Townswomen’s Guilds to travel to Birmingham for the Townswomen’s Guilds AGM.

The AGM this year was held in the International Convention Centre in Birmingham. Guest speakers at the event were Esther Rantzen CBE and Eric Knowles from the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. As this was the Queen’s Jubilee year, all delegates were asked to wear red, white and blue clothing.

Meanwhile, Glengormley Townswomen’s Bus Run this year is on Saturday, August 4, when members will be visiting the Newtownards Market. From there they will travel on to Downpatrick for a visit to the Cathedral and then on to Strangford and the ferry over to Portaferry for tea, before heading back home via the Ards Peninsula.
