£25,000 raised from auction at Armoy Mart
The auction, conducted by well-known businessman, Mr Danny McAllister, attracted hundreds to the Mart where lots were sold in double quick fashion but not without extracting as much as possible from an extremely generous public.
Items which fetched a pound contrasted with others that ran into thousands, but it all totted up to a tremendous amount at the conclusion.

“The gratifying thing is that the two charities. Marie Curie and Alzheimer’s Society, will get at least £12,000 each which is great as far as we are concerned,” he said.
One generous donor paid around £2000 for an item then promptly handed it back for use at a later date by the committee.
The gesture was typical of the giving spirit of the North Antrim community and beyond particularly to the Marie Curie committee whose fund-raising exploits have yielded tens of thousands for the charity.

Given the success of the event it is highly likely that a similar auction will be held again.
Mr Jamison would like to thank Armoy Mart and Mr McAllister as well as the helpers and anyone who contributed to this most successful event.
