Winter courses for all

BALLYMONEY Borough Arts Committee's new series of courses begins this month in Ballymoney Town Hall so if you feel like trying your hand at calligraphy, creative writing or painting, there are still places left.

Calligraphy with tutor Betty Ward, begins on Monday 25 January for 10 weeks from 2 until 4pm. Beautiful handwriting is within your reach as over the course duration, Betty will cover a range of topics suitable for both beginners and those at a more advanced level.

Also on Monday 25 January, tutor Teresa Godfrey will be offering An Introduction to the Techniques of Creative Writing. This is an 8-week course and runs from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. It will teach students the basics of short story writing and poetry and is aimed at writers with little or no experience of the craft of writing creatively.

A 10-week Painting Courses for Beginners with tutor Freda McKeown begins on 27 January from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. It offers participants the opportunity to try out various media in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.
