£20,000 grant will help young business brains

A £20k grant has been awarded to Ballymena Business Centre from The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) as one of nine winners in the UK of the Group’s Inspiring Enterprise funding.

Chief Executive of the Ballymena Centre, Melanie Christie said: “This funding will support a bespoke programme designed to enable young people from Ballymena and the surrounding area to start and grow a business within the creative sector.”

The Create 100 project, which is the first of its kind in Ballymena, will provide 10 young people who have an interest in starting a business within the Creative Industry Sector, the opportunity to start their business in Town Centre Retail Environment and benefit from a bespoke Retail Incubation Programme.

Alongside this, each participant will become an Enterprise Ambassador inspiring a further 90 post primary students from the Ballymena and surrounding area to consider starting their own business within the creative industry sector.
