New Ballymena store raises funds for ‘poorly pets’

LEADING veterinary charity PDSA is set to open a new store in Ballymena this week to help raise funds for sick and injured pets, and is appealing for store volunteers to join its fundraising efforts.

Ballymena PDSA store, located at 127 Church Street, opens at 10am on Thursday selling a traditional range of clothing and accessories, shoes, books, CDs, bric-a-brac and toys. It will also stock a range of new goods, including homeware and gifts.

“We’re very excited to be opening a new store in Ballymena on Thursday,” says PDSA’s Store Manager Rachel Wray.

”We’re looking forward to welcoming customers into our fabulous new store from 10am to browse the bargains and great gifts we have on sale. All funds raised at the store will help PDSA’s vets and nurses care for sick and injured pets in the local area.”

Rachel is also appealing for volunteers to join the store which will raise funds to provide free veterinary treatment for sick and injured pets of local people in need at the Belfast PDSA PetAid hospitals.

She said: “If you can spare a few hours or days a week to help serve customers, sort stock or create attractive displays, please get in touch today.

“Volunteering for PDSA is extremely enjoyable and full training is provided, so no prior experience is needed. It’s a rewarding way to spend some of your free time, make new friends and, if you’re currently job-hunting, it looks great on your CV too.”
