Northern Ireland named as UK’s most house-proud region

Northern Ireland residents have been named as the UK’s most obsessive cleaners, with a huge 82% stating they really pride themselves on how their house looks to visitors, while almost a quarter even say they find housework therapeutic.

However, according to the new research, released by ‘The Panasonic Domestic Report 2014’, it appears this could be having a negative impact on friendships.

Seventy per cent of those surveyed from Northern Ireland said they’d be embarrassed to have people round if they were behind on their vacuuming, laundry and ironing. Furthermore, half admitted they couldn’t help but judge others on the cleanliness of their abode.

Lack of time was shown to be an issue for those in the region when keeping up appearances, as 53% admitted they’d like to clean more often, but simply struggle to find enough hours in the day. Others stated they get by with a little help from their friends, with half saying they enjoy typical domestic chores when others rally round to help.

TV’s housekeeping expert Aggie MacKenzie said: “Although it’s fantastic that Northern Ireland’s residents are taking such pride in their homes, it’s such a shame they’re struggling to find time to spend on maintaining their own high standards. It seems they are crying out for some quick, easy ways to save time and effort on housework, and keep their houses looking spick and span.”

For those struggling to keep on top of hellish housework, Panasonic is coming to the rescue with an innovative new home appliances range, featuring a variety of products designed to save valuable time and effort on housekeeping.

New products include the steam function NA-140VZ4 Washing Machine, hydrapower multi-directional soleplate NI-W920A Steam Iron and the high suction power MC-CL934 Vacuum Cleaner.
