150 assaultson inmatesin NW jailin 3 years
There were 150 recorded assaults on prisoners in Magilligan over the past three years.
Jails Minister David Ford said: “All prisoners, following an assault, receive medical treatment from South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT) staff. If a prisoner then requires further treatment at an outside hospital this is a decision for the SEHSCT.”
The number of assaults reduced form 69 in 2013, to 44 in 2014 and further to 37 last year.
