Dan Hannan, Conservative MEP for SE England, addressed a public Leave campaign meeting in the town during a two day visit to Northern Ireland.

Mr Allister said: “I was delighted to be able to welcome Conservative MEP Dan Hannan to Ballymena where he addressed a public meeting in the Showgrounds on Saturday. I got to know Dan while serving as an MEP and knew that those in attendance would hear the case for independence from the EU put in a most convincing way.

“Dan Hannan is unquestionably one of the most articulate and compelling advocate for the UK recovering control over its own destiny and laws by leaving the disastrous EU. Anyone who attended could not have failed to have gone away with the impression that the UK can not just survive but thrive free of the shackles of Brussels,” said Mr Allister.
