Braid On-line Box Office trial - latest

AN on-line Box Office system, set to be trialled at The Braid Arts Centre from September, will involve a standard booking charge of £1.25 ‘per ticket’ purchased, members of Council’s Community Planning Committee have been advised.

While the committee had given their backing to the trial at a previous meeting, the matter was referred back to their forum last Monday night after a query over booking charges at Council’s monthly meeting from Cllr Declan O’Loan.

Presenting members with details, assistant director of Development, Leisure and Cultural Services, Bernie Candlish said that while the company would add a standard booking charge per ticket, there would be no credit card charges.

She also said that the trial would start after the summer and that in the interim, council finance staff would see if they could achieve an improvement on the offer.

Responding, Cllr O’Loan said he was “happy” with the officer’s update on the issue.

Alderman James Henry, however, asked if Council could look into the possibility of “designated seating” for ticket purchasers at the Braid and he was supported in that request by Cllr Audrey Wales who told the committee: “A lot of people are complaining that when they come to book, they can’t book a seat”.
