Christ in the Passover at Donagheady

ON Wednesday, March 31 Donagheady Presbyterian Church hosted a special 'Jews for Jesus' evening.

Rev Rod Mulholland welcomed everyone to the meeting. The subject for the evening was ‘Christ in the Passover’. The speaker, Mrs Alison Barnett, explained how the Jewish festival of Passover is connected to the great celebration of Easter.

Alison, a Jewish believer in Jesus, set up a Passover seder table and explained the significance of the various Passover symbols, showing how they point to the death and resurrection of the Messiah and how Jesus used the Passover meal in the Upper Room with His disciples to institute the Lord’s Supper or Communion celebration.

This special presentation deepened everyone’s understanding of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. There was a time for questions before Mrs Claire McElhinney (Omagh) brought the evening to a close by singing a very moving piece: ‘How can you say no to this man?’ after which everyone enjoyed fellowship over a cup of tea.
