The court heard how Christopher David McGuigan, 24, from Parkmont, made threats to put the windows in and burn down a house in Windmill Drive in Dungannon on December 5.

The owner of the house was on Scotch Street on May 6 when she was again approached by the defendant who again made threatening remarks to her.

Mr Blaine Nugent, defending, told the court that his client had decelerated his offending since 2013 due to a new relationship. He asked the judge not to activate a suspended sentence imposed in Armagh.

Imprisoning Mr McGuigan for a total of nine months, District Judge Bernadette Kelly also imposed a restraining order in respect of the injured party.
