Council offices will be ‘in the pink’

Council offices in Antrim and Ballymena will be ‘in the pink’ next month in support of Breast Cancer awareness month.

Councillors at Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s operation committee meeting on Monday night agreed for Antrim Civic Centre and Mossley Mill to be lit up pink on October 1.

Meanwhile, at the the monthly meeting of Mid & East Antrim Council, also on Monday night, councillors agreed to support the appeal from Action Cancer.

Action Cancer is asking local councils to light their offices pink on a nominated day next month.

The Northern Ireland charity is also calling on individuals, businesses and clubs in the two council areas to join in the ‘Paint the Town Pink’ fundraising and awareness campaign by holding pink themed fundraising events throughout October.
