“Westminster was able to put money into other banks and societies but they have left the PMS high and dry.

“Some people are in serious financial difficulties because they put their money in the PMS in good faith.”

Councillor Hubert Nicholl told the meeting that the situation is putting financial strain on many people, he said: ”People still hopeful that going to get something get something out of it, many people need the money to pay for nursing homes and are under serious pressure because of this problem.”

While Alderman James Alexander added: “This is a very serious matter, a lot of people are going to lose out because of this scheme.”
