'Get the f**k out of my house' - Toome man tells police

Shea Johnston (21), of Loughview Drive, admitted resisting the officer when he called at a house on April 4 to detain him in relation to a breach of bail.

A prosecuting lawyer said officers who called at the property could the defendant's shouting from the living room.

She said Johnston was verbally abusive towards police, telling them to "get the f**k out of my house" and making threatening remarks.

The barrister said the defendant continued to be verbally abusive while police attempted to arrest him and shoved one of the officers in the hallway.

She added that Johnston was later interview in connection with the incident and did not admit any of offence.

A defence barrister said when the police called they grabbed him by the hand and he resisted due to pain from an injury he sustained the previous day.

She said Johnston was receiving help with his addiction problems and was attempting to live a better life.

The lawyer said he had moved to live with his father in the Ballymena area and this had been a modifying influence on his behaviour.

District Judge Alan White said the defendant's pre-sentence report was one of the most negative reports he had read in a long time.

Mr White said the defendant has an atrocious record and had not kept appointments with the probation service.

Johnston also received a four-month concurrent sentence for disorderly behaviour at Queen Street, Magherafelt, in the early hours of February 14.

Mr White ordered the defendant to pay a £25 offenders levy and refused an application for bail.
