In her Prize Day address to pupils, parents, staff and governors, she said: “It has a sense of purpose which is palpable when you enter. It is consistently oversubscribed and while the premises is 40 years old and far from grand, it is neat, orderly, teeming with energy and most importantly, a place of safety and purpose where our pupils are highly motivated.

“The walls and corridors are alive with student work, there are good relationships between staff and pupils and the pupils are experiencing the delights that growing self-confidence and achievement bring,” said Mrs Wilson.

“As a school which is focused on self evaluation & self improvement, we were excited at the prospect of having our work viewed through another lens, and pleased, but not complacent, about the outcome. It confirms our improvement journey and is a spur to our continued progress.

“Research tells that what is consistent across high performing schools is an unshakeable belief in the ability of the students to achieve high standards, irrespective of their barriers.”
