Easter festivities at the BT Blues Club

THE MICHELIN Club in Ballymena will be rocking this Saturday as the local branch of the motorbike club the Chopper Club is set to host their third event.

This is a pre rally Rocknight and will set the scene for their first ever weekend event - the ‘Old Time Custom Show’ which will also be held at the Michelin Club over the NW200 weekend (May 18-20).

If the previous two rock nights in 2010 are anything to judge by, you are guaranteed an excellent night of live music and proper entertainment. Music on the night will be provided by The Stonehouse Band and Coldshot. The Stonehouse Band have been together for approximately five years and specialise in driving guitar based classic rock and blues. They consist of Chopper Club’s very own Looi on drums, Gary ‘Milky’ Agnew on guitar, Conor Crawford on Bass and Spencer Jones on vocals. Their extensive set list includes classics from the likes of Free, Bad Company, Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top and AC/DC to name but a few.

Stonehouse are renowned for belting out the classics while adding their own twist to the recipe. The Stonehouse Guys have already created a name for themselves on the rock and blues circuit and are also fast becoming a favourite in NI Biker circles.

The second band of the evening is Coldshot. Fronted by local kid (sorry now young man) Stevie Craig, Coldshot are an excellent, well polished three piece specialising in guitar driven blues. Their set list includes classics from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher and Thin Lizzy with lots of other surprises thrown in. They recently headlined in the famous BT Blues Club where the doors had to be shut early due to overcrowding. So come and see these two bands for yourselves.

There will also be a rock disco, a raffle with great prizes and hot food. Entry is only £5.00 with doors opening at 8pm. Live music will kick off at 9.30pm through until late. This is a night not to be missed, come along and experience the best in live rock and blues music. Remember - Saturday, March 24, Chopper Club Rock Night, Michelin Athletic Club, Woodside Road, Ballymena.
