Events will boost charity

A SERIES of charity events will be held over the next couple of weeks to raise money for Alzheimer's.

Pat O'Hagan decided to support the charity after a friend was diagnosed with the disease.

A sponsored walk will take place around Craigavon lakes on Sunday, May 2.

Also around the lakes will be a mini-half marathon on Sunday, May 23.

On Saturday, June 12 a 'World Cup' five-a-side football tournament will take place in the Goodyear Social Club. Entry costs 30 per team and sponsorship forms must be received by May 23.

Mary Kelly, Catriona Corr, Dancing to Breakaway, comedian Big O, country singer Bonnie, Lurgan's Dean Martin and Frank Sintara and Cathal, the singing breadman, McCann will perform at a dance in St Anthony's Hall on Friday, June 4.

Pat thanked the parents, staff and pupils of Lismore school for raising funds during a recent non-uniform day.
