Facing up to tomorrow with Griefshare at Ballyloughan

“I felt like I had a big hole in my heart.”

“I didn’t feel like being around people, I didn’t want to talk...it’s like I didn’t really care.”

“When I went outside I couldn’t understand why the whole world wasn’t standing still.”

“So many questions...no answers.”

Those are just some comments from people who have been devastated by the loss of a loved one.

Perhaps due to grief, you are finding it hard to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, parent, other family member or friend, you’ve probably found that there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.

That’s the reason for Griefshare, a special support group for people grieving the loss of someone close.

The group is facilitated by people who understand what you are experiencing and want to offer you comfort and encouragement during this difficult time.

Griefshare features biblical teaching on grief and recovery topics. Each session includes a DVD presentation in an interesting-to-watch format, featuring top experts on grief and recovery as well as real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours.

After viewing the DVD you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a discussion about what you’ve seen on the DVD and interact with others who have experienced a loss. Of course, you don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to – perhaps you might just prefer to listen.

Ballyloughan Presbyterian Church, Doury Road are holding an eight-week Griefshare course starting on Thursday, September 13, through to Thursday, November 1, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
